Mary Jane
Montauk, NY:
While "Mary Jane" can refer to several disparate items, it's unlikely that a boat hull comes to mind very often. Despite that, I'll argue that this Mary Jane has greater appeal than at least the candy and the shoes that go by the same name. I love the black metallic foil appearance of the top edges of the triangular shape of the hull, the subtle striations and color shifts, as well as the blown out rusted area on the left that seems to recall some of the pyrography seen in the work of Alberto Burri.
