Connecticut Galadriel II. I love the lush watercolor blues and greens of this boat hull, as well as the contrast between the dreamy, soft pattern of the top blue lines, and the grainier textures below. Since I know more about photographing boats than I do about boats generally, I'll try not to worry about the hole on the left side of this one.

Marina de Portimao, Portugal I never expected my boat hull photos to provide a connection to my inner Austen, but I photographed a boat in the Algarve in Portugal which made it happen. Here is Emma Jane, which not only bears the name of the author herself and one of her most celebrated works, but is from Faversham in the county of Kent in England, where Austen visited and near where her brother had lived. Puts one in the mind of strict social mores, acerbic observations, and repressed feelings.
